Rev. Lewis W. Young Jr. is the Senior Pastor of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Pomona, CA, serving since 1997. Born in South Carolina and descended from the Yoruba and Asanti tribes of West Africa, he has a rich heritage that informs his ministry. He and his wife, Doris, married in 1972, share three daughters, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Rev. Young holds a Master of Arts in Afro-American Studies from California State University, Los Angeles, and a Master’s in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary. His passion for effective ministry and community transformation is evident in his founding of Walbelou Holistic Christian Ministries, which focuses on theological education, business enterprise, and holistic restoration projects.
